Why choose Find Your eSIM?

We are seasoned travellers with a background in tech and telecoms. We launched our first eSIM comparison site back in 2023 and have years of hands-on experience since. We built Find Your eSIM to be the comparison tool we wanted ourselves: honest, independent and genuinely useful.

  • The whole market in one place

Compare 35+ providers and 85,000+ plans across 200+ destinations, so you find the right eSIM for your trip in a single search.

  • We test before we list

We buy and test every provider ourselves, at least once and at our own expense, before adding it. Providers that overpromise, hide costs or misrepresent what you get do not make the cut.

  • We take privacy seriously

Providers that leak your data to partners are not on Find Your eSIM, even if other comparison sites list them. And we keep things clean ourselves: no unwanted tracking pixels, no cookie stuffing.

  • More than just price

We look past the lowest price and research real quality. We do not simply repeat providers' marketing, and we are critical of 'unlimited' data that is not backed by fair, transparent terms.

  • Independent advice

Providers can't buy a better position, and a higher commission never earns a higher ranking. We're funded by affiliate links, but our recommendations come down to our own tests, ease of use and value for money.

  • Often cheaper than going direct

We collect dozens of discount codes and deals, so comparing through Find Your eSIM is often cheaper than buying the very same eSIM on your own.

Frequently asked

How does Find Your eSIM work? +

Find Your eSIM helps you compare travel eSIMs from 35+ trusted providers worldwide. We update prices daily, so you can find the best deals for your trip.

For over 90% of all offers we provide exclusive promo codes that help you save even more. Once you've found the right plan, you'll be redirected to the provider to complete your purchase.

What is a travel eSIM? +

A travel eSIM is a digital SIM card that gets you online abroad without swapping the physical SIM in your phone. You buy a data plan for your destination, install it with a QR code or through the provider's app, and you are connected the moment you arrive, without roaming fees or a trip to a local shop.

How much data do I need? +

Most travellers on Find Your eSIM choose plans with around 10 GB of data. How much you need depends on how you use your phone: streaming, video calls and hotspot use far more data than browsing or messaging. It's always a good idea to use our Data Calculator to set it up for the way you'll travel.

We don't recommend plans under 1 GB, because modern phones use background data and small bundles often offer poor value. A good starting point is your usual data use at home, keeping in mind you may use more while travelling, especially if Wi-Fi is limited.

How do I activate a travel eSIM? +

In most cases you activate a travel eSIM by scanning a QR code or installing it straight from the provider's app. Most recent iPhones and Android phones can download it directly, and you can also install it by hand if you prefer. It's best to set it up before you leave, while you still have Wi-Fi, and switch it on when you arrive.

Can I keep my regular SIM active while using a travel eSIM? +

Yes, in most cases that works. Almost every phone that supports eSIM lets you keep your normal SIM active at the same time, so you still receive calls and texts on your usual number. Just turn off data roaming on your home SIM so it doesn't run up costs, and use the eSIM for your data.

Can I make calls with a travel eSIM? +

Most travel eSIMs on Find Your eSIM are data-only. But a growing number of providers also offer calling, either through the eSIM itself or through a dedicated app. When it is included in a plan, we show it, and you can filter for it while you search.

Are there any travel eSIMs with true unlimited data? +

Yes, but not in the way most people are used to from home. Almost all “unlimited” plans include a daily or total high-speed cap, after which speeds drop or access is cut off completely. Some are throttled from the start or have no hotspot support.

On Find Your eSIM we show how much data a plan really gives you and weigh that into the filtering. You can also filter by the minimum amount of full-speed data per day, for example with our transparent unlimited tool. If a provider is not transparent with us, it gets a lower position and we show a warning.

We recommend choosing providers with a transparent fair-use policy that is clear at the point of purchase.

Is a local SIM card or a travel eSIM the better choice? +

For a short trip, a holiday or a business trip, a travel eSIM is usually the easiest and most convenient option: you set it up in advance and it works the moment you land. A local SIM card can be worth it for a longer stay, when you want a local number or the cheapest large bundles, but you often have to buy it in person and register it on arrival.

Which is cheaper, a local SIM card or a travel eSIM? +

It depends on the country and how much data you need. Local SIMs are often said to be cheaper, but that isn't always true and the difference has become much smaller. In some places a local SIM still wins on price; in others a travel eSIM comes out cheaper once you factor in buying and topping it up. Comparing the plans on Find Your eSIM is the quickest way to see which is the better deal for your trip.

Which is cheaper, roaming or a travel eSIM? +

In most cases a travel eSIM saves you a lot compared to roaming. The roaming rates from your home provider are usually much higher per GB, and it's easy to run up a big bill without noticing. Some plans do include roaming in certain regions, so it's worth checking yours, but for most trips an eSIM is the cheaper choice.

Do you work with eSIM providers that share customer data? +

No, and we check this ourselves. Find Your eSIM is built so you can compare completely anonymously. We only know who you are if you contact us directly. No provider feeds us your data in the background.

That is not standard in this industry. During our own testing we have caught providers, including a large and well-known one, passing on location data, contact details and device identifiers to comparison sites without the traveller ever agreeing to it. In some cases we could even see where someone was to within a few hundred metres. If you are away from home for a few weeks, that is not the kind of information you want leaking out.

Any provider that is this careless with your data, whether deliberately or through gross negligence, does not go on Find Your eSIM. Simple as that.

Is Find Your eSIM free to use? +

Yes, Find Your eSIM is completely free to use. We earn a small commission from our partners when you book through us, at no extra cost to you. On top of that we often have exclusive discount codes, so you frequently pay less than you would with the provider directly.
